Math and programming have some relation but are not entirely entwined as much as people believe. More and more, we see easy to use programming interfaces. I think the future is everyone coding. The programming we see now is going away for the most part. I would personally recommend keeping an open mind toward the future. I just discovered writing after being a programmer for 10 years. Both help keep me in balance.
