I find it interesting that fiction seems to be so heavily penalized. Hopefully this will inspire others to share their data as well. Then it should become more obvious if this is related to the topics your followers tend toward or if this is fully systemic of Medium’s algorithm. I would be curious to see a fiction writer with similar numbers branch out into nonfiction to see if the numbers followed the same pattern or not.
